Stanley is the capital and principal settlement of the Falkland Islands. It lies on the eastern side of the main island - East Falkland.
The Falkland Islands have have many good anchorages, but on the approach to Stanley, be aware that on the North coast there are not many places to run into for shelter. If you can make it into Falkland Sound there are plenty of places to tuck away.
Anyone visiting the Falklands will be assured of a warm welcome from resident cruisers there.

There is also the Falkland sailing Club, super well run by Bob and Janet. Before arriving best contact them by mail bob.janet@horizon.co.fk. we stayed for more than 4 months there and was one of our best stops. Perfect stop-over to go south
