Cruising the Islands of Orkney

Marinas:

The Stromness Marina is well sheltered and open all year. It is situated just beyond the ferry terminal.  Access to the marina is through a locked security gate. Please ensure you know the key code before leaving the marina. Electronic key fobs are available for long term and winter visitors.

Anchorages:

There is also an anchorage west of Inner Holm, clear of the channel.

Piers and moorings:

Many of the Orkney islands have small piers or jetties where visitors are welcome to tie alongside. However, it is recommended to call ahead to the take advice from pier masters for overnight berthing. Well maintained visitor yacht moorings are also provided in several locations,

The Orkney Islands Council Harbour Authority Handbook contains detailed information on piers and moorings throughout the islands.
