Where is Barra?

Barra is a tranquil island located near the southern tip of the Outer Hebrides (Western Isle) of Scotland. It is only five miles across by eight miles long and forms a compact paradise with stunning coastal scenery and fascinating flora and fauna.  It is named after Saint Finbarr of Cork and is connected to the island of Vatersay by the Vatersay Causeway.

Visitors should be aware of the Calmac Ferries timetable to Castlebay to ensure ferries are not delayed in berthing.
