Where is Ullapool?

The picturesque fishing town of Ullapool lies on the shores of Loch Broom, about around 45 miles (70 kilometres) northwest of Inverness in the Scottish Highlands.   It was built in 1788 by Thomas Telford to service the herring fishing industry. Although no longer the thriving centre it once was, the harbour is still the centre of activity in this neat, attractive, planned town.
