Eastbourne - Docking

Oct 30, 2014

The only shelter here, like Brighton, is in the marina, but unlike Brighton, it is cut back into the land. No anchoring permitted in this artificial harbour.

The entrance can be unsafe in strong SE/NE winds and if in doubt call the Harbour Master before entry. In winds about F5, it is best to time arrival within an hour and a half of high water. The entrance is dredged, but if your draft is over 2 metres and it is close to low water, it is advisable to call to check the depth.
