Ferries ply constantly back and forth across the river. The Upper and Lower ferries both carry vehicles. There is also a passenger only ferry running from next to the Darthaven Marina at Kingswear to the Town Quay. There is also a service up to Totnes, though most of these tend to be pleasure trips.
In season, a steam train runs from Kingswear to Paignton. The nearest mainline station is at Totness.
