Ullapool - Docking

Anchoring and Mooring in Ullapool:

Contact the Harbour Master for information regarding a berth. The harbour can get congested during the summer. There is a good anchorage E of the pier beyond the moorings. Also in Loch Kanaird, north of the entrance to Loch Broom.

There are eight trot moorings with pick up buoys in the harbour for boats up to 15m. It might also be possible to berth alongside a pontoon (see the HM).

There is a dinghy jetty close to the moorings.

Toilet and shower facilities are in the car park by the ferry terminal.

North of Ullapool:

Lochinver:

Easy nighttime approach, lots of moorage. Friendly harbourmaster, Joseph (young guy works on Lifeboat), Linda is older woman in harbour office, toilets, showers (free) and harbourmaster on top floor of long fish unloading building. Leisure Center next to boatyard has showers, free internet and loos. Showers also down the hall from harbour office, second floor. Fair sized SPAR grocery , great cafes for crew lunch ashore. Delilah’s restaurant in town is excellent. Nice nature walk above town and past stone bridge.

Kinlochbervie:

Shower and loos at far end of fish warehouse, always open, by forklifts, water and power on dock, small SPAR shop, great walks. Harbourmaster Gary is super helpful, used to captain large fishboats.

Kyle of Tongue, Skullomie:

Good anchorage in a small harbour and village. Entrance into harbour anchorage would need calm conditions.

Lochaline Harbour:

There is always room on the dock here for visitors with an excellent huge commercial washer and dryer as well as showers.
