Port Sudan Post Office opens 0700-1400 Saturday to Thursday, and has a telephone counter, although it can be difficult to get international calls through. There are public phones which take phone cards.

There are several internet cafes.

Excellent internet cafe at The Palace Hotel in Port Sudan, 5 pounds per hour can use own laptop. They also have wifi there. Skyping excellent there.

The Tourism Hotel Corporation. POB 718, Tel. 4438, is in the street leading into town from the anchorage. The director, Mr Khalid Khalafalla, is extremely helpful, not only in providing information but also in issuing the compulsory licence, without which one cannot take any pictures, film or video.
