On approach, take care to locate the seaward end of the channel and then following it carefully as it is bordered by sandbanks until inside the bay.
There is a useful anchorage just inside the entrance if waiting for daylight or the tide. It is to port, by some conspicuous towers. The depth is 6m with good holding.
There are pontoon berths at the yacht club's main base and swinging moorings at their base on the island of Ilha da Cotinga. The yacht club runs a ferry to this out base 4 times a day.
