Caravelas is located in southern Bahia a few miles above the mouth of the Caravelas river.
This is the port of departure for the dive boats visiting the Abrolhos Reefs and the nearest town to these uninhabited islands.
It is a good place to wait for suitable weather for your own visit to Abrolhos. It is about 30NM NW of the Reefs.
