There does not seem to be a Capitania in Niteroi. Take the ferry to Square XV and keep right upon exiting the terminal to find the Capitania in a pedestrian area next to the maritime tribunal. They are open until 5pm.
Also, contrary to what our charts said, the diesel pontoon at Iate Clube Brasiliero has a depth of 4-5m.
We stayed at Clube Naval Charitas. Some updates:
– Susy lives in town now, but the Club has her number. She still enjoys meeting and helping visitors. She took us to a wonderful viewpoint in Niteroi and then to the Pao de Azucar supermarket for shopping and laundry (the best place for it) on Rua Dr. Paulo Alves 42 (in the parking garage on the 2nd floor).
-Prices per day: 1st – 3rd day RS47, 4th-15th RS65, 16th-30th RS82, 31st-90th RS100. All amenities included (free Wifi close to the clubhouse).
-Diesel at Iate Clube Brasiliero across from Charitas.
-The Charitas ferry only runs on weekdays in the morning until 12 and again after 4:30 pm until 8 pm. Fixed price of RS16 one way.
Marina staff was very friendly and looked after our boat while we were gone. Great facilities.
