Monastir - Boatyards

Jul 09, 2024

The boatyard by Monastir Cap marina is an economical place to haul out and get a range of work done. The yard specialises in bottom jobs and has a continuous flow of boats in and out. The yard is small however and prolonged storage ashore is not encouraged as they move boats around to fit others in.  They have a 50T travellift.

There are more repair services, more space and a larger travellift suitable for catamarans at the Monastir fishing port (Port de Peche), about two miles south of the marina.

You can haul out and work on your boat yourself, or pay contractors to do it for you.

There is “a chandlery” at Monastir – a large, but poorly stocked, shop in the centre of the Port a Peche with some marine hardware, paints and sealants. Several of the hardware stores in the proximity of Cap Monastir Marina also carry marine paints, sealants and marine hardware. In addition to Monastir, several cruisers have travelled to Tunis as there are several reasonable chandleries there.
