Puerto Galera (Mindoro) - Docking

Apr 30, 2024

Anchoring:

It is advised to anchor outside until daylight if you arrive during the night and have never been through the inner bays to avoid the reefs.

Suitable overnight safe anchorages can be found west of Paniquian Island during the NE monsoon and in Varadero Bay during the SW monsoon. Both anchorages are on sand; you choose the depth to suit your keel and available scope.

Yachts are not allowed to anchor in Muelle Bay as this is a protected marine environment, except for the fixed moorings. Anchoring is permitted in Boquete Bay or Dalaruan Bay, but take great care when anchoring so as not to damage the protected corals and the indigenous giant clams.

Moorings:

The Yacht Club maintains 28 visitors' moorings very close to the western end of Muelle Bay, next to the town. The mooring area is considered typhoon-safe and lightning-strike-safe.

Charges are daily or monthly. Max. length 60ft/20 tons. Mooring fees include a complimentary water taxi service and access to the yacht club's facilities.

The Yacht Club moorings lie within Puerto Galera's natural typhoon shelter and are maintained annually by the yacht club to provide high levels of security. However, also check the strength of your mooring yourself before relying on it.

Municipal ordinances mandate zero-tolerance waste disposal in Muelle Bay. For all waste disposal, you can use the yacht club bins that are situated behind the clubhouse.
