There are U.S.-style supermarkets with many of the major brands. Vendors, except those at supermarkets, expect you to negotiate for lower prices; they see walking away as another bargaining tactic, so don’t hesitate to use it as such.
There is a wonderful fish market here. For fresh fish, shrimp and shellfish at good prices, it is hard to beat. Baja’s interior is cattle country and combined with the good fresh ingredients available, provisioning is a treat.
Ensenada’s most famous culinary item is one of its simplest; the fish taco. These savoury wraps are sold in dining stalls next to the fish market and from wagons at intersections throughout the city.

Cruiseport Marina Wi-Fi is reliable and steady in the evenings. Second time in Ensenada now, first in December 2016; Ensenada seems cleaner and as friendly as ever, if driving, vigilance to potholes and other drivers a super must, overall few complaints and nice small town ambience compared to the four-lane one-way freeway culture many of us have come from.
Cruiseport is fairly new and pretty good. Facilities are clean. Security is good. There is WiFi but it is not the fastest.
Baja Naval is a small marina outside a big boat repair yard. Everyone hauled out is also using those showers and toilets.
Baja Naval is a nice Marina. As a lot of Marinas in Mexico, the cleanness of the shower and bathroom is disappointing.
