Description:

Mgarr lies on the southern shore of Gozo and is the main ferry port for the island. The sheltered marina is a useful base for exploring the smaller islands.

The island of Gozo is a third of the size of the main island of Malta, but greener and more rural. It is made up of hills and deep valleys, as well as rugged cliffs.

The inhabitants of Gozo are known as Gozitans. It is rich in historic locations such as the Ġgantija temples, which, along with the other Megalithic temples of Malta, are among the world's oldest free-standing structures.

Cruiser Highlights:

Easy clearance port; quieter and more rural than Malta; excellent anchorages; easy ferry connections to Malta etc. Close to Comino and the Blue Lagoon.
