Mgarr - Docking

Oct 26, 2022

Anchorages:

There is no anchoring in the harbour.

There is good anchorage just outside the harbour directly east of the breakwater. It has good holding and room for 3 or 4 yachts. The moorings in the anchorage are used at night by the tourist day boats.

Nearby Anchorages:

Just across the water from Mgarr is the island of Comino and the Blue Lagoon, You can anchor in the mouth of the Blue Lagoon in about 30 feet, or right in it in about 12 feet.  At night, you’ll have a beautiful anchorage largely to yourself

Crystal Lagoon and Santa Marija, are both outstanding places to anchor and are also located on Camino.

Marinas:

This is a small sheltered harbour for ferries with a marina for yachts in the NE part. The western side is reserved for fishermen. Ferries are frequent and run 24 hours a day, so inevitably the marina does suffer from the wash.

In strong easterlies the marina can become untenable.
