Lebanon - Transport

Nov 16, 2025

Protests and roadblocks mean that local travel can be restricted. If traveling to the airport, be sure to double check flight times and give yourself plenty of time to get to the airport.

You must hold an International Driving Permit or a temporary local license to drive in Lebanon (these can be time consuming to get and expensive). The standard of driving is poor and there are frequent accidents. Traffic lights don't always work and are not utilised by many drivers. Hiring a car with a driver is recommended. Carry ID with you at all times as there are many checkpoints.
