Port Control in Hodeidah should be contacted in advance on VHF Channel 16 to advise ETA, name of vessel and other details, otherwise the yacht may not be allowed into the port.
Hodeidah is approached through a 16 km (10 mile) long channel. Pilotage is only compulsory for vessels over 150 GRT.
