Yasmine Hammamet - Bio Security

Nov 17, 2022

Description:

This port is located in the SE of the Northern Peninsula of Cap Bon, on the northern edge of the Gulf of Hammamet. It is particularly known for its jasmine, which is how the resort (the first tourist resort in Tunisia) got its name.  The weather is pleasant in the winter with temperatures around 20C during the day dropping down to 10C at night.

Cruiser Highlights:

This is a good place to stop if heading westwards and fighting N/NW winds or a good starting point to make a passage to Pantelleria or Malta.  There is a boatyard and marina and good repair facilities. Diesel and petrol are not expensive, the Marina capitainerie will refill gas bottles and there is good shopping for meat, fish, fresh fruit and vegetables and dried goods.  Good connections to other Tunisian towns if you want to explore inland. WhatsApp group for visiting cruisers - shopping trips, desert outings and happy hours regularly organised over the winter period.

See SY Argo's You Tube report on their month in Hammamet getting a multitude of boat repair work done [Nov. 24].

Position:

36° 22'09"N, 10° 32'46"E (marina entrance)
