Tokelau - Transport

Dec 24, 2022

The government-run ferries MV Tokelau or (the slightly larger) MV Victoria provides passenger and cargo services to and from Apia every two weeks. The trip makes the 482 kms (300 miles) in about 24 to 36 hours each way. The ship makes the round trip in five days. Passengers must bring their own sleeping bags or bedding on which to sleep. Food is provided and there is one bathroom for the passengers.

There is also a larger cargo ship that makes the trip once a month.

Each island is small enough to walk round in a day.
