In Sweden, all marine rescue services are coordinated from Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) in Gothenburg. In case of alarm call 112 or radio VHF channel 16 “Sweden Rescue”.

24 hour NHS emergency number Tel. 112. The casualty department at a hospital is called Akutmottagning or Vardcentral in more remote areas.

The Swedish equivalent of the RNLI is Sjoraddningssallskapet provides an assistance service as follows:

  • Free assistance for an offshore breakdown
  • Free tow to the nearest port
  • Help in contacting boatyards, maritime engineers or relatives.
