Suakin and Port Sudan harbor have good phone coverage and also along the coast between the two ports.

Cruisers recommend MTN sim cards, as these work best all the way up the Sudanese Coast.

Coverage is a bit erratic as you move north but some Marsas have both good phone and internet coverage.

Marsa Fijab (excellent); Khor El Marob and Marsa Oseif also have good coverage. At Marsa Oseif it's possible to anchor right in front of the cell towers.

Mobile Networks Operators from Sudan offer 3G services also GSM bands.

Sim cards are US$10 for 5GB valid for one month.
