It is possible to anchor in the bay. However, the entrance channel is not buoyed and does not appear to agree with Navionics charts. The north side is reported to be shallower that shown on charts - two meters - whereas staying well south of the shown channel indicated around six meters. Keep a safe watch.
The marina was destroyed during Hurricane Irma in 2017 and in 2019, cruisers report no signs of any re-building.

Due to a new treaty signed between France and the Kingdom of the Netherlands in May 2023 the shared border has been moved from the French shoreline and now runs down the exact center of Oyster Pond including the entrance. With the borderline dispute resolved, Captain Oliver’s Marina and Resort now fully resides within the French territory. Prior, everything over water was Dutch and the resort on land was French. Expect the marina to be fully re-developed as it has sat untouched since Hurricane Irma in 2017, possibly opening in 2025. Since the small lagoon will be bisected by the border it is unclear how vessels will decide which country to check into if arriving from other islands, or if this will be a port-of-entry for either.
This marina no longer exists. Hurricane Irma has completely destroyed everything and in May 2019 we saw no signs of any rebuilding.
