  • June 2025:  Updated Alert to Avoid Area due to ongoing tensions between Guna Yala people and Central Government of Panama.
  • March 2019: Weather update.
  • March 2019: Updated to include planned changes which will streamline the clearance process.
  • January 2019: Updated security to include incidents in Portobelo.
  • December 2018: All Profile and Formalities information updated using information from current cruisers, Marinas, Facebook pages and official sites.
  • November 2018: Pet information updated with details from the San Blas Cruisers Facebook page and official sites.
  • October 2018: Security section updated following armed robbery in Puerto Lindo.
    April 2018: Crack down on illegal chartering, particularly in the San Blas, included in the Restrictions section.
  • March 2018: Confirmation of new visa rules from Panama Immigration, passed on by Russ of Shelter Bay Marina.
  • February 2018: Update to the visa rules for cruisers.
  • January 2018:Updated Transport information from Cruiser Resource Guide for Panama City.
  • October 2017: Change of visa rules - immigration and fees updated accordingly.
  • August 2017: Visa at airport for returning yacht crew info. passed on by Russ of Shelter Bay Marina and Immigration section updated.
  • June 2017: Tourist visa info. clarified following feedback from Bocas del Toro.
  • May 2017: Porvenir Port Captain now back as reported by KS.
  • March 2017: Immigration further updated with feedback from Karsten Staffeldt and Shelter Bay Marina.
  • February 2017: Porvenir immigration and port captain offices re-opening plus entry stamp details added, as reported by Shelter Bay Marina.
  • November 2016: Panama City Central Immigration Office confirmed that new visa rules in effect - all old visa information removed.
  • November 2016: Customs section updated with help from Karsten Staffeldt.
  • November 2016: Posting of new visa rules as informed by Shelter Bay Marina Management. Old information still remains until we receive official confirmation that these visa rules are in place.
  • January 2016: Formalities checked by Karsten Staffeldt.
