Trondheim - Transport & Travel

Feb 07, 2016

There is a good bus network in the city and a ferry service to Kristiansund.

The Trampe bicycle lift (Sykkelheisen Trampe) is the first, and currently only, bicycle lift in the world. It works on a similar principle to a ski drag lift.

Trondheim has 125 city bikes available for citizens and tourists. You will find the bikes in ten bicycle racks in and around the city centre (from May through October). Download the cycling map (32 pages, 14 Mb pdf)

There are a joint train and bus terminal. Trains to Oslo, Bodø, and to Sweden via Storlien.

A frequent bus service runs to/from Trondheim Airport at Værnes.

Taxi ranks at Torvet (the market square), Søndre gate, Nedre Elvehavn, Nordre gate, Trondheim Central Station, the Radisson SAS Royal Garden Hotel, Leüthenhaven, Ila and Pirterminalen.
