If swimming or walking on the beaches, be aware that phosphorus sometimes washes ashore from a boat which sunk off the coast several years ago. It looks like a brownish-green stone and resembles amber. When exposed to the air and slightly warmed (for example, by holding in the hand or by keeping in a pocket) the phosphorus can suddenly ignite and cause serious burns.
