Washing machines available at the Yacht Club.  Euro 2 per load. No dryer.  There are some evenings when there is a scheduled water shutoff.

Provisions

There are quite a few supermarkets including Sodifram, Carrefour, and Baobob.

There are covered markets on both Grande-Terre and Petite-Terre.  In the afternoons you can often find a few women selling veggies at ferry landing area (Dzaoudzi).

There is a big covered market at Mamoudzou by ferry landing.

The Mall on Grand-Terre also has hardware store (Mr Bricologe) and a grocery (Jumbo Score).

Don't expect the supermarkets to be fully stocked.  Often there are lots of empty areas and fresh fruit and vegetables don't appear to be easily obtainable according to recent cruiser reports.

Visit the tourist office (to the right as you get off the ferry) and obtain a map, which will show you the main shops. They are very friendly and helpful.

In spite of some supermarkets being in downtown Mamoudzou and Pamanzi, it is worth taking a taxi to the Mega-Supermarche called "Cora", some 10 km out of Mamoudzou town where you can find well-stocked shops, and a full range of foods in the air-conditioned supermarket itself. Credit cards like VISA and MasterCard are accepted.
