Beirut - Transport & Travel

Apr 01, 2017

Lebanese taxis are comfortable and reasonably priced. Even cheaper is the "service-taxi" which allows one to share the cost of a trip with other passengers.

Bus services are also available to certain destinations but are not timetabled.

Car rentals are fairly expensive but if you shop around you can find surprisingly reasonable prices. The country is notorious for the bad condition of its roads and the hair-raising driving style of the locals. Rules of the Road are nonexistent and there are no speed limits. On the positive side, (in theory) everybody has agreed to drive on the right and fuel is cheap and easy to obtain.

Beirut's international airport has excellent world-wide air connections.
