San Lorenzo - Transport & Travel

Oct 01, 2014

From the Pan-American highway at the north end of the town there are buses to other parts of Honduras, and to other countries in Central America. The Nicaraguan border is just a couple of hours ride away and San Lorenzo provides a very cheap place to leave your boat while you go exploring. The bus from San Lorenzo to the capital, Tegucigalpa, passes right in front of the international airport which has daily flights to and from the USA, so San Lorenzo is an easy place to travel back to the USA from, or to arrange for visitors to join you on the boat.

Car rental is available at the airport or in the town of Choluteca, 40 minutes drive from San Lorenzo
