Clarkes Court Bay - Docking

Feb 07, 2025

There is a well-buoyed channel leading into the bay which offers many anchoring options.

There are two marinas here.

Clarkes Court Boatyard and Marina (originally Clarkes Court Bay Marina), on the western side of the bay, is under new management and the whole area has been re-developed over the last few years. Both marina and boatyard services are now available.

Whisper Cove Marina is located on the eastern side of the bay opposite Clarkes Court.

The small town of Lower Woburn has a dinghy dock.

Security:

Dinghy and outboard theft and burglaries have been reported in this bay over the years and continue to be reported. Secure your valuables at all times, and if possible, raise your dinghy and outboard on deck at night and secure your boat from night-time boarders.

An attempted robbery was made on a yacht at anchor, but the robbers were deterred when confronted by the skipper.

Take care at the Woburn dinghy docks where siphoning of outboard fuel has been reported,  dinghy and engine theft as well as stolen loose items in the dinghy.  There is now a light on the Woburn public dock and also a camera, however, theft still occurs.  Thieves are also siphoning fuel from the tanks of dinghies from yachts at anchor.

Drive your dinghy at moderate speed and take care driving at night as there are a lot of high-speed local boats here. A liveaboard cruiser died in a dinghy/boat collision here in August 2019.
