Rostock(Warnemunde) - Docking

Mar 15, 2012

The entrance is possible both day and night, being well marked with no off-lying dangers.

The large modern marina of Hohe Dune lies to the east of the river entrance, on the opposite side of the river to Warnemunde and is rather remote from the town.

The western side of the entrance leads to the yacht harbor and also the fishing harbor (Alter Strom) at Warnemunde. This is close to the town centre

The channel up to Rostock is well marked although many buoys are unlit, so a daylight passage is advisable. There are a number of small yacht harbors on the east bank at Gehlsdorf but these are not so convenient for the city. Further on there are a number of birthing options on the south bank, including the town quay (Stadthafen). The facilities here are being rapidly improved.
