The International Dialing Code for French Guiana is +594. If calling France, dial the 10 digit number direct.

If you are French, you will probably find that your mobile package from mainland France includes calls and text messages to and from the French overseas territories.

French Guiana has two main mobile network operators, each offering a variety of prepaid SIM card plans and data bundles: Orange and Digicel [SIM card cost between 10 and 20 euros].

In recent years, (travel) eSIMs have become extremely popular. To purchase one of these eSIMs, your phone must be compatible.

4G coverage is good in French Guiana, but not consistent. The coastline tends to be fairly well covered but as you go further inland, the network can vary.

A few internet cafes are open in Cayenne, Kourou and Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni and there are some free Wifi hotspots located throughout the country.

In border areas with Brazil or Suriname, be careful as the network may switch to the networks of these neighbouring countries which can have a significant impact on pricing.
