Saint Laurent du Maroni - Docking

Sep 24, 2023

Anchorages:

Anchoring is not allowed within the marina zone. Whilst there is no official anchorage, yachts will be asked to move if they drop their hook within 150m of the mooring field.

The Gendarmerie and the Municipal police can issue fines to yachts that do not comply.

Marina:

The marina has 20 mooring buoys that have only just been replaced. They can handle yachts up to 60 feet - 50 ton (larger yachts up to 40m in length can be accommodated by taking a second buoy). Rafting of two vessels is permitted.

The marina has a laundry and cafe and fast WiFi is offered free to marina clients with good coverage over the mooring field.

Potable water is available for customers of the marina free of charge (in limited quantities when using your own containers), and yachts can come alongside the jetty to obtain large quantities (for a fee).

Security:

The first-known security incident against cruisers occurred here in March 2016 when four crew were robbed of their personal items whilst venturing up the Maroni River in their dinghy. See report here.
