El Gouna - Clearance

Apr 30, 2016

Abu Tig Marina now a Port of Entry.

For full details on clearing into and out of the country see noonsite's Egypt Formalities.

Entry will involve clearing with the usual authorities including Port Authority, Customs, Immigration, etc. You should ensure you get a Cruising Permit from the Port Authority (destination "El Gouna" if you are coming from the North and "Suez" if you are coming from the South). See those ports for more details on clearance there. The Shipping Agent will arrange the cruising permit for you.

All foreign flagged boats are liable for a Customs Fee, which will be done with your Agent, along with the other paperwork.

Official fees are about US$180 for up to 1 month and about $280 (plus customs fees) for each 4 month period. This includes customs fee, free pratique; health and port clearance, and port fees. It is important to pay in advance for the whole period of your proposed stay, as it may not possible to add additional months.

This permission is valid for all Egyptian ports except Sharm El Sheikh.
