VHF channel 68 is used for all local communications.

The Luperon Cruisers Net operates on VHF Channel 68 Wednesday at 08:00 and Sunday at 09:00.

VHF Channel 16 is not much used locally, except by the Navy.

The two main mobile companies are Claro and Altice.

There is Wi-Fi in the anchorage to your bullet (USD24/month) plus free Wi-Fi at the marina and most restaurants in town. The mobile phone companies also have Wi-Fi packages for you to use with your phone being the hotspot or you can buy a stay-on-the-boat unit that broadcasts Wi-Fi.

WhatsApp is widely used in the DR to communicate.

There are international courier services for sending packages overseas in Puerto Plata. BoxPaq Couriers (will bring in FedEx and DHL) are one of them. No English spoken.
