The town of Jaco is less than fifteen minutes by taxi - the marina office will call a taxi. The city of Puntarenas is about 90 minutes north from Los Suenos, while San Jose is less than a two-hour drive.
The Best Western has a travel agency in the main lobby of the resort that can arrange tours or airline tickets for you.
There are several car rental agencies in Jaco including Economy, Budget, National, and Zuma.

Dinghy landing service is now only available to guests docked at Los Sueños Marina. Dinghy landing is not available to those on mooring balls or at anchor in Playa Herradura; even for those cruisers who are willing to pay a fee for the privilege. Locals have emphatically advised us not to beach our dinghies at Playa Herradura due to high theft in the area.
We spent a month in each of the three gulfs of Costa Rica. This marina is located in the center one, just a little south of Puntarenas. This marina caters to high-end sports fishing and does not welcome sailing vessels. As of August 2016 prices were $5 per ft/ day and $50 per day for dinghy landing.
The shops there are nice with a great chandlery and high-end provisioning store that carries lots of American goodies, but the manager explained to us that the owner wishes the marina to be private and so sailboats are not welcomed here. They do not want you to leave your boat when refuelling and strictly enforce the dinghy landing costs. Not a cruiser friendly marina by any means.
