Comoros - Money

Nov 03, 2025

Comoron Franc (CF).

All foreign currency must be declared on arrival.

Euros are accepted in some shops and is the best currency to bring. US Dollars are less easy to use.

The Banque pour l’Industrie et le Commerce (BIC), which has branches on the islands, is the only place where currency can be exchanged.

You will find banks in both Grande Comore and Anjouan with ATMs. Note however that electricity on Anjouan, for example, is typically turned off between 12:00 and 18:00, when ATMs may not function.

Credit card facilities are limited.
