Santa Marta - Communications

Aug 31, 2024

The Marina office will hold mail for yachts. Ensure that letters are addressed correctly - using the marina address, with the boat name clearly marked. Mail is slow and unreliable to and from Colombia.

If you are having something sent to Colombia of value, it is recommended to use FedEx, not DHL (as they don't recognise "yacht in transit" status and therefore charge import duty and local VAT - 29% plus). Ensure your supplier is confident they can send packages to Colombia and that customs can receive packages from the country of origin. The marina office can also help with arrangements.

Packages arriving for a yacht by air do not qualify for duty free status and are charged 28% - 30% duty.

Internet

As well as the marina WiFi, there is good WiFi in many of the bars throughout the town.

Post Office

Deprisa Post Office can be found on Av, Santa Rita and DHL Express is a short distance away. Ask the marina office for directions.
