Description:
Graciosa Island is the northernmost and smallest of the Central Group of islands in the Azores.
The port of Vila da Praia is located on the east coast of the island of Graciosa.
Cruiser Highlights:
Santa Cruz, the main town, is known for its white-washed houses. The island produces some good wines and brandy and the "White Island" as it is known is famous for its rugged coastal scenery and its thriving colonies of sea birds.
Position:
39° 03.1'N, 27° 57.98'W (harbor entrance).

In May 2014 we were directed to moor at the stone quay immediately to port on entering the inner harbor (no electricity, water from a single tap on a nearby building). We spent 2 nearly swell-free and free nights. 2 other transient boats of about 40ft had slipped on finger berths with electricity and water, also completely and unconditionally free.
GNR office directly opposite of the slipway in the oldest part of the port. Good restaurant in town, 2 minutes by foot.
I have doubts that this would be a safe place in stronger easterly winds.
