Lajes is not an official port of entry and as stated above, is not suited to pleasure yachts. The Maritime Police and National Guard based here will check visiting yachts in as an accommodation. They will not stamp passports however and clearing into Europe for immigration purposes will have to be done at the next island or port of call.
