Facilities for yachts improved in Fremantle when it hosted the defense of America's Cup.
Challenger Harbour is situated to the west of the Fishing Boat Harbour. There are some short stay berths here, as well as some administered by the Fremantle Cruising Yacht Club.
Aquarama Marina and the East Fremantle Yacht Club which also has some visitor berths are situated up the Swan River, above the Fremantle bridges which have a clearance of only 7M HAT.
