Mackay - Docking

Jul 24, 2024

Mackay Marina:

This is a well established and modern marina, providing good protection from the weather. On entering, yachts should pass through the first (commercial) area to the marina area, which forms the southern part.  More than 400 berths cater for mono-hull and multi-hull vessels from 10m up to 55m.

The marina is part of a residential village with a hotel, restaurants, shops, chandlery, and shipyard included. There is a fuel berth, open 24 hours a day, free internet, gas can be refilled and there are showers, laundry etc. See Related Businesses below for more marina details.

It is 15 minutes by car from Mackay town where more extensive provisioning is possible.

There are rubbish bins around the marina. Rubbish can be split for recycling. Yellow lid bins for aluminum cans, glass, cartons. Blue lids for paper. Red lids for all other waste.

Used oil disposal containers also available.

Anchoring:

Anchoring outside the marina is definitely not advised due to busy shipping, 6m+ tides and exposure to weather.
