Codrington Clearance for Yachts

General Procedure for Codrington

To check into Barbuda (having already done your online clearance), send an email to comptroller of customs requesting permission. Do this 48 hours ahead of arrival. Email Raju.Boddu@ab.gov.ag, copy to Customs@ab.gov.ag.

On arrival to Barbuda, WhatApp Customs (+1 (268) 464-5012) to make sure they are in the office (and to avoid hanging around) before you go ashore. Let them know you have received permission from the Comptroller of Customs. If it goes to voicemail, leave a message.

If you don't have any luck getting through, contact Antigua Customs on +1 268-732-4157.

The Customs office in Codrington is a short walk from the waterfront (see map). Note the office is on the opposite side of the street to that shown on the map.

Clearance hours for officials  may vary during the season, however, approximate hours daily are 10am to 4pm. At the weekends until 2pm.

When you check in at Barbuda, you will pay no fees, but will be instructed to pay them when you get to Antigua at the Port Authority office.

Once you meet the Customs officer, clearance paperwork should take about half an hour.
